Headline News on Burundi Impact 2006!

Burundi a nation in Africa that is slightly smaller than the state of Maryland . Population is eight million people with only seven Assemblies of God churches and three missionary families to spread the Gospel. These numbers don't seem to make sense. In the Bible, Jesus talks about the harvest is plentiful but the labors are few! (Matthew 9:37) That statement became true to me in Burundi. Burundians have been in war for the past 17 years and recently now there is peace. The whole time I was there, I felt that God telling me that these people are living in constant fear and now is the time for salvation. Missionary Don Corbin said, "Open doors aren't for observation, they are for penetration." Just imagine the opportunity we had to finally bring the Gospel to Burundi. We had campaign meetings and over one hundred people attended every night and in the two weeks we were down there, we counted over 600 salvations!!! God is obviously doing something and I was blessed to be used of Him. The testimonies that we have can seriously write a book. But I will just share with you one that will forever stay in my heart.
There this woman that I prayed for the first night. I laid my hands on her and just prayed as the Holy Spirit would guide me. I didn't know her need because of the language barrier, but she was praying and with tears in her eyes, I knew that God was doing something. I prayed that God's power would heal her body, and the hurt she feels would be taken way in the name of Jesus! This African woman starts feeling her ribs, in shock that she didn't know what was happening. After praying for a few minutes, I had to get a translator to help me speak to this woman and this was her response.
"For years, I have been beaten from my husband. My bones have been broken and since I am poor, I wasn't able to go to the doctor. I have been in so much pain. But as you were praying for me, I literally felt that God was moving my bones back in place and now I feel no pain in my body!"
That was the power of GOD! We hear it often but it was my first time seeing the supernatural take place right before my eyes! This woman experienced the power of God and she walked out of that meeting jumping up and down praising God for healing her body. All I could do was thank Jesus for being who he says he is!

Thanks for your prayer and financial support that made it possible to send me to Burundi …Africa

Why do we Christian Americans feel that we deserve such rights? Why do we hold on to security and with all of our strength try to control every aspect our life?

Why do I do that? God commanded, Charisse, let Go...Let Go!!!

Being an American I have to fight matieralism and keep asking God to deliver me from myself and all the things that I want. Oswald Chambers said, "My goal is God Himself, not joy, nor peace, nor even blessing, but Hmself, my God."

Matthew 10:39 is the dominating theme in my life right now. "Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."

I want to let go and let GOD!
